LOWELL GEORGE – ” Tuning and Style “

Posted: July 16, 2015 in Uncategorized

Lowell demonstrating bottleneck techniques (Rockpalast 1977),  it’s SO good I have to share again in case some of the newbys haven’t seen it yet.
Lowell gives an impromptu guitar lesson on how to play slide on that beautiful cream colored Fender Stratocaster. He demonstrates how and what open tuning is using the open G tuning which happens to be my favorite. He even includes a little Ry Cooder style demo, beautifully I might add. I assume he knew Ry Cooder, but maybe Forest can confirm.
What I love about this, is that it’s a perfect example of Lowells’ amazing God given gift that he wields seemingly effortless here, just entertaining and educating the whole room.
